![]() The Rating Freddy is back and better than ever, as he returns to Elm Street to terrorize a new batch of its children in this new novel based on the popular Nightmare on Elm Street series. Springwood High is gearing up for its biggest football game ever, and the town is determined to let nothing stop it from finally shedding its horrific past. However, when the entire supply of hypnocil, a dream suppressant, disappears, its free-reign for Krueger to terrorize, returning to the world he was once the master of. A.J.: 9.5/10, Matt really outdid himself this time with his newest masterpiece: The Springwood Slasher. I don't even remember how many times I was reading a chapter and thought to myself, 'Damn, this is just like a movie'. The characters were so real, I felt like I knew each of them personally, and Freddy was on his A-game. Matt mixed in the classic Freddy one-liners with some fresh comical new ones, all while keeping the evil sinister part of Freddy strong. The only thing keeping this novel from getting a 10 or even higher was that it cut too close to some exact same scenes from the original Nightmare on Elm Street, but perhaps that was planned on purpose? Hmm... Total Score: 9.5 out of 10. Average Score: 9.5. Percentage Score: 95 percent. ![]() ![]() Back to Springwood Slasher page Back to Freddy's Lair |
