A group of club boats meet up with other boats, "Boat
Harbour", Lake Taupo.
| The club has been holding an annual cruise to Lake Taupo to assist those with limited
crusing experience. The cruise is held over the three day weekend of Wellington Anniversary
Weekend to give poeple two overnight stays on their boats. Boats depart the Motuoapa Marina
Saturday morning, returning Monday afternoon. This year 13 boats attended ranging in size from
Hartley 18's to a Carribou 25. Anchorages are chosen to accommodate those that have limited
facilities onboard, such as toilet facilities.

| This year the boats departed Motuoapa Marina heading to "Scenic Bay" for lunch then headed
South to overnight at the "Tailrace". Sunday the boats circled Stump Bay, fishing and sailing
(or both) before heading to the Kuratau River for the night. Monday consisted of a leasurly
sail home.

| Not all cruising is organised tours of Taupo. On non racing weekends many members head
off to Taupo or other destinations. "Informal" cruises happen throughout the year as
members buddy up. Often we meet by chance as people explore anchorages around the lake. |
| Overnight stays are also organised in our local waters. Turning up for a Saturday afternoon
sail on Lake Horowhenua is a relaxing way to wind down from the working week. There are nice
quiet little coves on Lake Horowhenua where you can sneak in for the night, or even tie up in
front of the clubhouse. Your boat is rigged and ready to sail on the Sunday when you can add
a little racing to the weekend.
