No.
No.
No.
That
was the Vietnam war.
That's
where I lost my legs
In
the middle of the day breaking
Would
you believe it?
Crossing
her arms she leaned
forward
giggling.

of THE
SECRETS OF PERFECTION
assistant Professor of Philosophy, wood sculptor Steff Rocknak develops
expressionistic trend. She is inspired by experience of joy, sadness or
dejection, and her wooden bodies are only result of this experience. Steff's
point of view ironical, she is playful and kindhearted, she feels sympathy
and compassion to her heroes unfortunated, hurt, humiliated, imprisoned,
old, kneeling, contorted, ridiculous, laughing. She catches most interesting,
unexpected moments (sometimes even unfit postures) and skillfully fixes
them. She is a good visual narrator.

If light
irony and kindheart are the signs of femininity, Steff's arm is strong
not womanly. Steff well knows human anatomy and uses it successfully. Her
wood figures are distinguished for precision of accomplishment. She exhaust
illumination of figures for strengthening expression and mysteriousness.
I hope you will agree with this opinion after visiting so interesting gallery
of wood art.
