Herbs and Their Magickal Purposes and More!

CAUTION HERBS LISTED HERE ARE FOR MAGICKAL PURPOSES> DO NOT CONSUME SOME ARE DEADLY> It is always best to study up on your herbs and plants. To find out their medicinal properties.

The oldest Science can be known to some as Magick. Magick was some of the earliest science because it investigated nature. Example: Early humans knew about gravity even though the term wasn't as of yet, by seeing a leaves, fruit, nuts etc. fall from trees.

Magick resides within all things. Such as the trees, rocks, winds, flames, bodies, stars, and planet alignments. Herbal magick is understanding and utilizing the power of plants. The realms of Pure Essential Oils, incenses, tinctures, etc. Herbs have always provided us with healing properties and more. Combining plant and human energies is how you create herb magick.

Three Ways to Collect Herbs

Collection: such as going on actual nature hikes anywhere and making it your purpose to gather herbs. Always only take from the Earth what you need. Take your hands and feel the plants energy, this is to be intune with the plant. You can also leave a gift for the plant right at it's base to show your willingness to give some of yourself in exchange for the sacrifice the plant is giving to you. It is best not to take of any plant right after any rain or heavy dew. Always pay heed to never take more than 25% of the plants growth, as it needs it's other 75% . Be cautious of where you take plants from. Such as stay away from busy roads, and factories, and polluted waterways. As these plants have absorbed some major negative attributes.

Purchasing: Due to different environments on our planet and different types of plants, many may have to be purchased from around this great Earth. Choose your dried herbs carefully. This is due to many stores not carrying freshly stocked herbs or plants. Always look for bright coloring and few stems, and smell for freshness. ( When purchasing Essential Oils pay attention to price. If all the oils are marked similar in price it is usually synthetic. Another is it could be cut heavily with a base oil, such as almond oil etc., and still be called a Pure essential Oil. This is because the Almond Oil is still after all an all natural oil. Yet at the same time you need to know that it shouldn't cost you your bank account to get these oils. OK BIG LESSON HERE. Spike Lavender Oil may be 35$ for 1 oz. but not all of them for 3.00$ and not all of them for 100.00$. Prices should always very. Unless they are Essential Compounds or Blends.Heres Why~ it takes maybe 50 lb. of Lavender flowers to make 1 pound of oil. Lavender flowers are also readily available in many parts of the World. So 35$ is reasonable. OK NOW Rose petals it actually takes almost 1000 pounds of petals to make 1 lb of pure essential rose oil. So of course 1 small dram alone is going to cost almost 100$. There are only some oils like special absolutes, and resins or as I pointed out may take almost 1000 lb. of flowers to make 1 lb of oil. These will be the very expensive oils. That will run you anywhere from 20$ a dram up to as much as 140$ a dram. Such as Rose Otto, Roman or German Chamomile, Precious Neroli, Ylang-Ylang and Absolutes and certain Resins. Things like lemon, orange, tangerine, cedar wood, vanilla 5'th, ylang -ylang 5'th, and with degree's such as Chamomile to the 5'th are much less costly. Averaging 2.00$ a dram up to 12.00$ depending on the oil. Some people are honest if they cut their oils and will not actually term them Pure. Most grocery marts and health food supplies are selling oils as pure but actually may only consist of 15% of the actual Pure Essential Oil. So look for sites or shops where they can say " Oils are uncut, and contain no other alcohol's or bases , and promise they are 100% the actual oils". This is if you want the highest quality. Otherwise shop where you want . Always only spend what you can afford. If it means you have to wait to buy one you can afford, then it is best to wait so you get good quality. Some oils do have to be cut and mixed to make specific blends, but they should also be sold as blends or essential compounds.)

Growing Herbs: This can very self fulfilling in various ways. This is also a way to keep you in supply of unsprayed healthy herbs. place quartz crystals and gems in the soil of your garden to help plant magickally. Once the plant has matured you can then harvest them. to do this follow the system described above in Collecting. Show gratitude to the Earth and Plant but don't thank the Faeries just leave them presents.

AIRIMID (Air-i-mid): Daughter of Diancecht, Goddess of herbs, and herbal medicine.

Airmed - In preparation for the Second Battle of Mag Tuired, she along with Diancecht (her father) "took one of each of all the herbs in Ireland" and created the "Well of Healing" called Tiopra or Tiobraid Slaine meaning fountain or spring of healing/wellness. Legend indicates that Tiobraid Slaine can be found between Mag Tuired and Lough Arrow. The Well (or cauldron) was used to heal wounded warriors; those injured or near death entered it, coming out fully healed and ready to fight again.  When her brother Miach was killed Airmed planted 365 herbs on his grave.  When she harvested the herbs she spread them out on her cloak and arranged them in order of their healing properties. But Diancecht, still jealous of her brother's success in replacing the silver arm  Diancecht had made for Nauda with a real flesh and blood arm, mixed up the herbs, so that no one knows all their right powers to this day.
