Spell Crafting

SPELL CRAFT is the art or ability to cast or work spells, also known as "work". "To Work" is also known as performing "magick", which is spelled with a "K" on the end to differentiate this kind of magick from sleight of hand performed by stage magicians.

Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung discovered that we have three parts in our minds which they call the subconscious, the conscious, and the superconcious. In Huna culture (Hawaiian), it is the animal self, the middle self, and the higher self. In Wicca it is called the younger self, the middle self, and the higher self. Many in the World did not understand how right the Huna were till Freud and Jung proved it true. Though I believe some other cultures had understood this long before they labeled it as subconscious, the conscious, and the superconcious. Note: Some people believe Jesus actually followed the Huna peoples ways. I have seen and read books on this. I will when I get my book back from someone who borrowed it mention the title here. If someone had read books on this please feel free to e-mail me the titles etc. is from the 1950's. I did find it intriguing enough to pay heed to some of it's explanations and reasoning of what Jesus really meant by knowing thy father.

This is also the concept of the Soul, the Higher Self, the Guardian Angel, whatever you decide to name it..

The conscious mind, or ego is “analytical” and has no real contact with the Higher Self. Since it has only a show me attitude towards everything it will preclude any contact with Deity. Higher Self has the ability to aid in manifesting on the physical plane what we really want to have happen through contact with Deity. The Higher Self only has contact with the subconscious .

The Younger Self, which "thinks" through emotion and imagery not logic.Your Younger Self can only say "yes" to whatever you tell yourself. This is what can make things positive or negative based on the thought of positive and negative. The younger self acts like a computer so what ever you tell it is what it will manifest for you.

Before you decide to spell craft, you need to do everything possible you can on the practical level of it first! Spell crafting never excludes you from participating on your own. If you light a pink candle to help a friendship, for example, and then continue to not call that friend or put effort towards the friendship then your spell is NOT going to work! This may seem logical, but I receive e-mails from people wondering if their spell will work, and they have admitted to not helping it along on the physical plane. Keep in mind if you REALLY WANT something bad enough, you would be doing EVERYTHING you can to get it. Right?

Spells can last sometimes up to 3 lunar cycles, or the spell can begin immediately or end immediately.. Let’s say you lit a green candle for money, and the very next day someone gives you a raise - your spell has worked! Now since it worked use the time you would have waited to see if spell worked to say "Thank you" to the deity for granting you your will. As you know it is important to always say thank you to those who have helped you. Even if the outcome is not what you expected or maybe even wanted it is still important to thank Deity or energy that helped you. .

If your spell has not worked at all in the time of the three lunar cycles than stop! Time to re-evaluate. What could you have done? Did you really focus? Did you really believe? What was it you know you should have done but maybe didn't? Only you can answer this question. No one else can provide a quick fix for you. All spell crafting is learned separately from each individual. This being what works better for you may not be the case for another. If you try again and again and there is no result, than you are being taught a lesson from the Higher Self and this spell was not meant to form, and manifest for you. Trust me when I say there is reason for it.

When spell crafting we are visualizing and acting out symbolically what we want to happen as if it already has happened. We use tools, chants, rhymes, drums, dancing, music etc. to raise energy. We then direct the energy to where we need it and into the universe for it to manifest. So this would mean the younger self visualized the will and sent it to the higher self that then sent it to Deity so that are will is then set in motion

Please do not e-mail me asking me for spells!!! Though I do spell craft and have first hand knowledge that it works I do not e-mail spells. I can aid you in some advice but I will not aid in any controlling spells of wanting a lover, or any spells without the permission of the party you may being trying to aid even if it is a spell for health reasons.

Should you find you really MUST help a person you care deeply about, but you do not have their permission, or for some reason you cannot get their permission, then the best thing to do is to send them loving energy, to use as they will, without asking anything in return! If possible ask a High Priestess or Priest for assistance when you have an ethical question regarding the nature of the spell you wish to do. Someone who is more well versed in magick can aid you in finding a way that may be more appropriate or more effective.

Always remember your higher self is on a mission to always look out at what is best for you. This also means it will guide you towards the right path. Some people believe in leaving an out in the ending phrase of the spell such as "if it is meant to be" I on the other hand practice never controlling others and always obtaining the proper permission of the proper person before spell crafting. I never ask things like make this specific man love me, or make me win the lottery. Remaining positive and on my own path of my ethic code . This is my way. This does not mean it reflects on everyone else on this path. It also does not mean I follow the Wiccan Law.

You should always keep a magickal journal of your observations.(BOS or Book Of Shadows) At some time , you may need to do that spell again.

Constructing your Spell

Fine tuning your spell can be done by adding more energies in the way of choosing the specific day of the week, time of the day,colors, planetary alignment, runes , tarot cards can also be used in tarot spells , herbs, oils, soap to wash with( I recommend that you bathe in some sort of spiritual bath with the appropriate herbs, oils etc. If you have to shower I recommend having soaps made spiritualy that you need or folding up some herbs, fine sea salt and a couple drops of the oil (That are safe to you)in a wash cloth. You can find some soaps below or oils at the link below for oils etc),Purify yourself either with a purifying bath or shower, or by asperging yourself with either spring water or salted, purified water, candles and the oils you use on them , the cycle of the Moon, incenses, elements of Earth, Air, Water and fire, God & Goddess if you like using specific names and make sure to use the names appropriate for that spell etc. KNOW your deities Power's!!!!! Use the above things as a checklist. Fill in the list with all the elements that correspond to your desired spell. Once you have made the complete list of all you could use, then you can go back and decide exactly which things you choose to use the energies of. It is up to you if you would like to use them all. I like to use everything I can if I have time to really get into it. If I don't I know I can just raise energy and direct that energy. I enjoy both ways equally. Again that is a personal choice. However I do not get trapped in believing I need to use these items as raising energy does not have to be so ritualistic in the sense of tools. You yourself are a tool and if properly taught and trained you can raise effiecient enegy just standing there. If someone was going to attack you you wouldn't have time for some long ritual with tools you would just raise a protective shield and re act as to how you need to for your safety. Many books have Tables of Correspondences.

Are your tools Consecrated? Have you dedicated yourself to your path and to the God and Goddess or your specific deity? Do you really believe? Are you really ready? Have you been studying? You aren't using magick as a game I hope? Are you being positive? Is this what you really want?

What words will you use for your spell? Know them, again just remember rhyming can be fun and easier and fun is what makes it nicer for the Younger Self. This way the rhyme can also raise the energy level cause it is easier to chant which means you can keep a flow going and have a beat to it.

Decide which of these elements you choose to incorporate into the spell . See what substitutions you may have to make for herbs, etc and go with your intuition on what herbs etc you should use know all safety issue's such as herbs that are poisonous to breathe, fire saftey on where your candles are AND don't leave them unattended especially in or on glass surfaces. Sometimes you will need substitutions because the herbs you want or need may not be available in your area, or may not even be purchasable. It is your spell so the items used must feel right to you to be the most effective.

What kind of energy raising do you want to use for this spell? Dancing, chanting,drumming, tamborene, or do you want to raise energy through meditation and visualization or both and or all?

Be realistic in what you will be able to do. Even though I have time for longer detailed rituals this does not mean everyone does . This is understandable. So please be realistic.

Write down what you plan to do. Write down all the tools you will need. List EVERYTHING you will need. Once you've created a protective boundary you don't want to find out you forgot something. Turn phones, and t.v's off.

When you feel you are all done writing it all down then read it out loud. Does it sound reasonable, does it make sense to you, can you achieve the goal of the ritual. Do you have what you need? Check all these points out.

The more vibrations you tune into your spell, the better. This is my own opinion plus the Younger Self can have much more fun with it. The same goes for the more energy and thought and research you put in the more you will get back. Constructing your spell in rhyme, as a chant can help you to remember what your going to say easier and always be 100% positive and specific about what you want. Do not include what you don’t want. Visualize it happening now . As our subconscious mind only knows the here and now. Make sure to help it along on the Physical Plane!!!!!

Now be safe, know your deity, herbs, oils, practice safely, keep intent realistic, and most important do what will work for you and ENJOY!
