~ AS AMERICANS ~
Our country stands divided,
once more we are engaging in war.
Some of us say let's take them down,
while others argue and claim no more.

How do you tell the 'Sleeping Giant',
she must simply back down peacefully.
Memories of our homeland attacked,
on the very soil of those who live free.

Many feel our fight is not with Iraq,
perhaps, in some way that, may be true.
However, they still harbor world terrorists,
we made a pledge to see this through.
~*~
Negotiations with the United Nations,
seem to lead down a dead-end path.
Pros and cons in attempts to understand,
using these weapons to unlease their wrath.

Believe in the leadership of our Nation,
Believe in the leadership of our Nation,
or you can join the opposing side.
or you can join the opposing side.
What you may not do, as Americans,
is fail soldiers charged with duty and pride.

So if this war had to happen,
cast your protesting signs to the ground.
In whatever form of beliefs you practice,
let voices now unite in riveting sounds.
~*~
Watching faces of our Military departing,
in rows they salute our flag's honor call.
Ready to battle the civil rights of mankind,
may God, in his mercy, protect them one and all.
