where does one go to place these fears?

Tell me how to wash away my aching heart,

begin all over again, as the past disappears.

Just when I believe no one is near,

suddenly aware never am I really alone,

You had come and filled my every emotion.

with distinctive intimacy, familiarly known.

Gazing up into star-burst nights,

I can hear you sigh, I can hear you breathe.

You're that awesome Man In The Moon,

always and forever there watching over me.

What makes you continue stay,

even though you're at the end of your rope.

And the world feels like it is spinning apart.

still searching for that last chance of hope.

Can't simply walk away,

something here keeps me grounded.

No strength to fight and no reason to leave.

this time is not the same, simplicity unfounded.

Memories returning in fragments,

allowing solitude to become a friend.

Always the first to say goodbye until now,

rather to be lost in this space of pretend.

Then something cries out,

colliding feelings with the here and now.

A smile caresses my innermost heart,

holding words within, once a unspoken vow.

Kind of like people in that respect,

with beauty rare, for all to see and behold,

Over the years as it falls, merged into dust,

so full of mysteries shared yet left untold.
