~SLUMBERS' PREDAWN LIGHT~

When I awake from slumbers' predawn light,

burnished stars continue engaging to peer through.

Searching that stead still warm from your body,

aroma embedded in smooth sheets left imbue.

~*~

Should a dream escape me in such haunting fear,

my mind searching for consolation by your presence.

Knowing brushed touches bear traces upon my skin,

leaving a feeling of extraordinarily omnipresence.

~*~

If night's chill eases within my innermost soul,

pursuing such winds that bellow through fallen leaves.

No harm can they cause in their twisting movement,

captured with others which cling among eaves.

~*~

For you are the Prince who shields all destruction,

enveloped in arms encasing every moment attended.

Casting all doubt, illusions overlap and expressed,

what a wondrous world nigh to magic so splendid.

~*~

Foregather the coming of two who become one,

in a stealthy manner, this thief he does take.

Unified hearts relinquish claims for non other,

the dance underneath, timidly tremulous quakes,

~*~

What more shall we ask than common bonded,

linked tapestry, faded pastel charms exclusive.

Lovers who partake nectar’s sweet pleasures,

dwelling eternity life's conceptual reclusive.

~*~

Captured, locked away in timeless minutes,

in passing pure shadows, my own perception.

Quintessence arise, merge elements beholding,

subsequent events, visible and unfolding inception.

~*~

When I awake from slumbers' predawn light,

burnished stars continue engaging to peer through.

Searching that stead still warm from your body,

aroma embedden in smooth sheets left imbue.
